Which doesn't contradict your point, since it wasn't a blockbuster,
just a good movie done well.  Budget of $5 million, per IMDB, and it
did turn a reasonable, if not spectacular, profit.  But you couldn't
do a fantasy-action film on that budget.

A quick eyeball of a few sf/fantasy flicks suggest that $60-75 million
is the average.
