I think it's more complicated than just age.

She never set the template of any particular thing in my mind.  I read
a lot of her books when I was younger, and some of them I'd still say
were really quite good (though I haven't reread any in ages, so maybe
I'd be wrong).

But she's the only author I've ever felt I've outgrown, too.  And the
only author that I've actually pruned some books out of my library.
